Chapter 3

Community Projects Title Page

Community projects are done by a person or group of people that benefits others. Community projects are often done in the area where you live, so your own community reaps the benefits of your work. You do not get paid to perform community service, but volunteer your time.

In the Plains area, one of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn’t as individuals. True community requires commitment and openness. It is a willingness to extend yourself to encounter and know the other.

Community projects may answer almost any need, which may include several sub-components, realized with funding from the town, county, state, and/or donations.
